Small 250-650
medium 800-1300
Large 1500-1800
any thing 2000 or above to freaking big
I have never considered 1500 a mid size bike. A Mid size should give you some power but not at the expence of maneuverability. Large bikes still are just big, sluggish, not as nearly maneuverable, and more expensive. If thats your bag fine but I'll stick with my 790 (or in the future 865) "Mid size" bike.
