A very big tree branch fell on my 76 Bonneville and landed on the handle bars.
Luckily the only thing that happened was the bars got seriously bent and the tach glass broke. I replaced the bars and the glass but I also have another problem. With the kickstand down, the bike leans so far over that it seems like its going to fall over. I thought the stand might of got bent so I tried another stand and still the same problem. I'm thinking the tab on the frame got bent that the stand bolts to. Anybody have any experience with this type of screwed up problem? I'd just leave the stand off but I like having the stand cause I'm not real tall and kickstarting the bike with the stand down is a lot easier for me. Anybody know a reputable dealer in PA that works on problems like this? I've had a couple guys tell me that the motor has to come out to replace the tab and rebraze it and a couple that said it doesn't. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
