I'm flying out to Bryan TX to purchase a cardinal red and silver Colonial Cruiser - the famous prefire Bonneville America! From Byran Texas, I'll be riding up to Oklahoma City on either the 31st of July or the first of August, then meandering my way back to Florida's Space Coast. Anyone want to meet and greet? No worries as the open road will be my companion and the wind shall guide me home.

Is northern Alabama on your way? Lots of pretty riding up this way in our beautiful mountains. Y'all come (as they say in these parts).

Being that I'll be on the same latitude as Northern Alabama when I pay my tributes in Oklahoma City, I very well might head East from there.

Jim, Is this serendipity or what? I'll be in Oklahoma City for work the week of July 30th through Aug 3rd. No bike but I will have a car so we should meet up for dinner on your way through if OK City is going to be your stop for the night.

Sounds like a plan because I will be in Oklahoma City. I arrive in Easterwood at 10:55am and should be able to get a paper plate and be on my way traveling the 370 miles to Oklahoma City by 2 pm arriving at dusk. I'll tour the memorial on Wednesday. On further reflection I might just have to say I'll be there Wednesday afternoon as I may stop in at that little ole Texas goodies shop known as Newspeedmaster.com. So Yes, lets see if we can find one of those microbreweries that require a taxi cab receipt to enter! I'll call you when I get it sorted out. P.S.: What bike will you be on? The one with the brand new heli bars or that ole trumpet?

Levi, Given my early departure from Orlando on the 31st, I’m thinking that a ride up to Murphy/Plano would be a good place to grab a room for the night. That way I could swing by Brent’s business on Wednesday and then roll up to Oklahoma City to dine with the English Yankee that evening. So meeting you for supper Tuesday evening could be in the cards. Where are you, about 30 miles or so West of Plano?

If we're making dinner plans for Tuesday night I'm in, I live 20 minutes from Murphy. Let me know where and I'm there! Maybe we can get Tmax to meet up for some grub as well, if he isn't at the fire station that day. Skip (BKG) is in Wylie. We might be able to get him to show up well.
Learning from my mistakes... again and again.

Yeah, I bet we could work that out. It would be cool if everybody can make it. Nathen, you sure you can get a kitchen pass with the new baby and all? I get off work at 7pm. What do you guys think? Maybe Wilhoite's in Grapevine? We could do something out towards Plano and Murphy as well. Two Rows in Allen has awesome burgers!

Yous guys have me at a disadvantage! I am at home on a dial up and having just bought a Texas map from one of those book stores I still can't find Rockwall or Grapevine...Ahhh I see them now. From the West Suburbs of Grapevine to the East burbs of Rockwall, Plano finds itself sandwiched between. The idea for a layover in Plano was a general thing. I can stay anywhere so how about you locals saying where for me after I check out some sights in Waco, grab some kolaches in West I'll be ready for a hearty hoppy supper. I want to check out the School Book Depository in town on Wednesday before I split for Oklahoma City. Gosh there are WAY too many things to do off the beaten path as they say. So again, y'all figure out a good place to eat Tuesday evening and I'll meet y'all there and get a room in that area. It's all Texas to me.

Find a Risky's (sp?) for BBQ...the original place is in Ft. Worth but there's bound to be a branch eatery in the vicinity.

I was thinking the same thing, Blackwind can help in the Houston area with picking up or whatever or can come down to Bryan. If we meet him in Bryan I can ride with him up to about Corsicana and still get home reasonably.
Then again, Moe may be looking for alone time on the road. I know I do from time to time.

Keith, Tuesday July 31: I will be in arriving in Houston (IAH - Intercontinental) at 7:30am and I'll have a layover for 2 hours and 20 minutes then I'll be getting on a crop duster to fly into Easterwood. I am set to arrive at CLL at 10:55am. Tam's husband, Ken offered to pick me up in Houston! As it is CLL is about 6 miles from their home and either Ken or Tam will meet me there. I'll be getting a 30 day temp tag in downtown Bryan across from the Court House on E Wm J Bryan Pkwy, and proof of insurance will be faxed to me, then I'll be looking to head north. I'm thinking 2pm departure for Waco, West (the little Texas town) then some burb of Dallas. Brent suggested washing down some mexican grub with a Margarita made with Patron Anejo, Cointreau and Grand Marnier. Tam and Ken gave me their addy so I can UPS my stuff to them. In Orlando, I'll be boarding the Jet Robert Style, i.e., helmet and jacket only in hand! Foot loose and fancy free! I like traveling light when I have to deal with the TSA. Actually no tools over 7 inches in length are allowed in carry on baggage. So I said to myself, "self, why not send all your stuff?" That is the plan as it stands now. Wednesday I plan on watching B-52s land at Tinker Air Force Base, paying respects at the Memorial then meeting up with Greg for supper. After that, I'll be wandering back to Merritt Island through the States of Arkansas, Louisiana (maybe), Mississippi, Alabama, and Georgia. (Would someone send me a grand so I can take two weeks off and tour halfway properly?)

Keith lives in Houston doesn't he? I think that is SSE of Bryan?

That is so true. But alas, I'll have enough of that when I roll out of Oklahoma City. So Ron, you could ride over to Bryan and have lunch with us. Us being Tam/Ken (they don't know I'll be buying them lunch) and possibly Keith. Austin is a place I have always wanted to visit. Ron, could you pick up Austin and move it 100 miles EEN for me next week?
El Paso too and Albuquerque, New Mexico the list goes on...

Austin is pretty light, with all the political hot air at the capital. Problem is Waco won't let me bring it up there! They would say its a bio-hazard Okay, I plan on being at Bryan lunch time. I will ride to Waco with you then turn south down the slab to San Antonio. This is a great excuse to ride, blaming it all on Moe. hmm, did I say that out loud?

I am so wanting to meet up with you in Bryan, Moe. Great excuse for a ride up, and heck - I live right on Hwy 290, and it's little more than an hour's ride there. My brother lives in College Station (Hambone, here on the forum)and I am calling him tonight to tell him what a DEAL he missed out on on that America. I am one of 10 Service Consultants (it was 10 until one quit last week), and another had a knee replaced last Friday so he is out for another week. We are real short handed at the shop, and the phone just rings incessantly. I could use a "sick day", but would rather do that when I know everyone else would be there....it is bad enough on my customers when I take a legitimate day off, but to do something like this knowing how short-handed we are, would be a real disservice to a lot of people, and I LIKE MY CUSTOMERS - THEY ARE MY FRIENDS, TOO! I am more concerned about their well being than I am my co-workers, or those whose pockets I line by working for them there. The dealership is a refuge to so many, and I am their lifeline. Lots of little old ladies, widowers, and retirees - not to mention the spoiled soccer moms who just can't live with the broken DVD player in the headrest of their luxury utility vehicle and the crying kid in the back seat. Now that is a TRUE emergency, my friend. (You ought to hear them whine about that crap.) I know I can't make it - but what a bummer missing the opportunity. Ride safe, and I hope this crazy weather cooperates with you. Raining again this afternoon......and lots more in the forecast.

Keith, Good on ya for being someone who cares about their job! Like I wrote earlier, no worries. If I can meet up with some brothers and sisters fine, if not fine. Tuesday is not the best choice for riding due to a certain four letter word. (Except for someone I won't mention in the finger lakes region of NY. )

Hey guys, Ron (saxtron) but this is specifically directed to Levi (Wyrm74) and Terry (tmax) and last but not the slowest: Greg aka the EnglishYankee. Like a klingon I shipped a package UPS to Bryan TX on the 25th. UPS represented that the package would be delivered on the 30th. Fine ship it ground then. I would have shipped it 2nd day had I known that now UPS is saying “Your package is in the UPS system and has a rescheduled delivery date of 07/31/2007.†I called them and they said the package can be delivered anywhere from some ridiculously early time to 7pm! 7 pm right. Looks like I am at the mercy of UPS. UPS did say that they could place a call to Bryan’s dispatch and request an early delivery. However, I can’t request that until the package reaches Bryan. Great. I’ll be in the air and nowhere near a puter or phone. So, Lunch is still on for Tam Kenny Ron and I but I may not be rolling North towards Dallas until the 1st of August. Major potential bummer, but alas, I’ll get to ride around Brazos county and do some exploring there. Maybe ride with Ron back towards Austin before I turn round and head back to Bryan for the night. UPS don’t I love them about right now? You bettcha! not Don’t read this post the wrong way as frankly I could give a dern but it does throw a bit of turmoil into trying to schedule anything… No matter as I’ll still be ’ing from ear to ear when I step on the Jet in Orlando FL.!

Life is what happens to you when you are making plans A little wrinkle in the beginning of an adventure. Thats what makes life an adventure. Would be real boring without the little wrinkles once in a while. Make those guys up north get off their recliners and ride south to Waco.

Hey Moe, August 1st works better for me but I know your frustrated with the plan delays. Nathen (nuthin) and I was hoping to hook up with ya! I think Levi is out of the deal probably a scheduled appointment with his shrink Will you have a cell phone with you? I can back track south of Dallas and hook up somewhere and help you navigate through the jungle and find Nathen! Have some lunch and send U on your way north toward OKC. Whatch Ya think?
