Maybe ran out of sufficient air necessary to maintain the proper fuel/air mixture ratio for full combustion at the higher RPM???? perhaps do to "breathing capability limitations" of the hardware setup?? If you can't supply the necessary air, then you would have to reduce the fuel (e.g.;smaller jets) to maintain the "optimum" fuel/air ratio.
