I had the same problem about a month ago and i ditched the heal/toe shifter and put the single toe shifter back on. you can adjust it with the linkage so that its in a comfortable position for you. I saved myself £100 (thats about $200).
The Triumph salesman told me I needed the heal/toe if I had the floorboards but that is not true.
I don't know about angling them but I don't find I need it with just the toe changer.
