That sounds ugly. Unfortunately that's out of my knowledge/experience level, and I don't have a trustworthy mechanic within a few hundred miles. Maybe I could take it to the Edmonton dealership (I just checked - Edmonton is just as far as Seattle). I just need to know if this is serious enough, i.e. indicative of a real problem, so I can get it sorted out before my ride to southern California this September.

Of, if I can make it down there, have SoCal Triumph take a look while I'm visiting the fam.
