More likely the opposite, weakend clutch springs not engaging the clutch plates properly. The fluid should provide some drag all of the time in a wet clutch system so you should always feel some drag, even if it is ever so light. Or, (let's hope NOT) the not-so-happy out of adjustment shift dog(s) inside the tranny that aren't actuating the gears properly as they slide back and forth in the transmission. I'm betting springs but I'm a poor gambler. The constant neutral in between gears points more toward out of alignment shift dogs.
