Saw a thing on the science channel last night. Seems that the cotton people have developed a new material they call 'storm denim'. http://www.cottoninc.com/PressReleases/?articleID=366 It repels water like a ducks feathers but it still breaths like regular denim.

Hmmm. I have some winter shirts from LL Bean that are called 'canvas' but they are lightweight and repel moisture pretty well. They aren't 100% waterproof but pretty close to it. Wonder if this is the same fabric?

That release was dated March 2006. There should be something on the market by now.
