I WANTED TO KILL MY CHOCOLATE LAB !!!!

After a 3 month riding lay off due to surgery, I was due to get back on the road the first weekend in May. The Friday before, my 4 stone 12 month old "BEST FRIEND" charged through a 6 inch gap between me and a post whilst all my weight was on my left leg, forcing it to bend at the knee - not in the normal way, but left to right !

My knee felt as though it had exploded ! I was in agony.

I said words to the effect " Blue old chap, I do wish you'd be a bit more careful"

Consequently I have been on sticks for 10 weeks !

Unfortunately it was a warm sunny day and lots of folks were outside soaking up the rays.

A while later, I heard one of my neighbours (two ladies in their 80's) who adore him, giving him treats and talking to him. The older one said " I still love you Blue and I wouldn't call you them sort of names whatever you had done.."

BUT SHE AIN'T GOT A 2006 Silver and Grey BA in her garage !

My knee is almost back to normal and so this weekend I was planning a trip but we've had bad weather warnings , a huge thunderstorm and torrential rain today.

GRRRRRRRRRRR..................still haven't forgiven the growler......don't want to kill him.....maybe a visit to the vet for a bit of undercarriage modification.......

that'll teach him...

If you do it today you MIGHT regret it. If you CAN'T do it tomorrow you WILL regret it.

Hey, he may have done you a big favor. Just imagine that same knee crumbling while you were on your BA...
Seriously, leave the lad at home and go for a ride. Anywhere. Just because you can.

My 120 lb Golden Retriever saw something that he had to get to ASAP, and so while she was standing on the door sill, he ran through the back of my wife's legs, sweeping them forward, with her doing a sit down from three feet in the air. She was less than pleased to land on the concrete floor on her tail bone. Almost had dog stew for dinner that night...

I have a customer with a 175 lb Rottweiler named Tom. A very big lovable lug of a dog too.

I feel your pain, hope recovery is fast. Last week my neighors lab (about 100 lbs) wrapped his lead around her ankle and took off after another dog. Flipped her 180 degrees, landing on her wrist/hip. Broke the wrist and damaged her hip. She's in a wheel chair for 6 weeks while the wrist heals enough so she can use a walker for another few months till the hip gets better.

I watched the dog while they were at the emergency room (via ambulance). Had the dog on a lead, wife and neighbor came over. My other neighbor leaned over to pet the dog, he jumped up, hitting her nose. Blood everywhere, but fortunately he didn't break her nose. Dog went to the kennel for a few days after this wonderful day....

We had a lovable newfoundland that went 168lbs in her prime. Usually very docile, one afternoon at bus call she took off like a rocket; unfortunately the Mrs. had her hand through the lead (wearing it like a bracelet) and went a-flyin' just like a cartoon. It was very hard to be wise and not laugh...no one got hurt except a little pride...

Gotta love the pooches.

A few weeks ago I was coming up our long, packed dirt driveway. I was hot dogging it a bit, breaking the back wheel loose and doing a bit of fishtailing. Suddenly, out from behind the boat came all 200 lbs of my two German Shepherds running to welcome dad home. They both crossed directly in front of me. Ranger cleared no problem but my front tire met Scout at the midpoint of her body. I had to decide real quick whether to injure or kill my dog or dump my bike. Well. the bike slammed to the gound, me doing the high-step hurdle over the bars followed by a shoulder roll.

The dogs knew they had done wrong, my wife was screaming at them to "stay" the whole time. They have seen dad mad before but they were shocked to find I had another gear.

Scratched the tank, no dent though. Very slightly bent the bars but I have some drags I have been meaning to put on anyways. Had to replace the brake pedal. Dinged my shoulder on the dismount but nothing serious.

Ever since then the dogs sit tight until they hear "ok" whenever someone comes up the drive.

My Doberman/Alaskan Malamute mix dragged me off of my Magna V45 by my brake foot many years ago when I was leaving to go to work one morning. The poor dear just despised my motorcycle; after that she stayed put up until I left. Ruined the boot, damaged my pride, the bike had nary a scar...and like yours, once she saw saw she had me in her jaws she knew she had done wrong. Happily, I was laughing so hard I didn't scold her into submission over a natural instinct, i just knew to put her up when the scoot came out.

I was running ( back when I could do that ) on a path in the woods with my 60 lb female pit, when she suddenly zigged, I zagged, and the next thing I know I am flying thru the air and landing in a big pile of leaves on my back. I get up slowly, and turn to see my dog doing that "crawl on her belly cause she was so ashamed" thing that dogs will somtimes do. That was the ONLY time in her 14 year life she ever struck that pose. What a dog she was.

About 20 years ago (YIKES!!!), I was very much into cycling, ans clipless pedals were just becoming common. I had replaced my stock pedals with a set of Look pedals, and I couldn't wait to try them out (of course). I was riding up and down the street in front of my house, and my wifey opens the front door before I could say, 'Don't let Dixie out.' Well, Dixie, my beloved late Springer, darts immediately out in front of me and I jump on the front brakes, which sends me head over tea kettle into the street where my right wrist took all the damage and was badly sprained - hurt like the devil.
