What ever happened to liquor ads like these from back when it apparently was socially acceptable to get sloshed before work?

Or this one which advertises morning drunkenness followed shortly by gunplay...

And "What every woman wants to know about a man"...what's that...get him loaded and he'll be happier? I think they're onto something!

Must admit, I've never heard of this brand. But I'm tempted to try it. Not sure about before my Rice Krispies though, maybe after........about 8 hours after.

Oh the power of advertising. I am a marketers dream.

Well Mark, right off hand I'd say that ads like this pretty much went by the wayside just about the same time that commercials starring ol' Ronnie Reagan on our 15inch Philco TV sets were telling us that..."4 out of 5 doctors recommend Chesterfield Cigarettes for their patients who smoke!"

Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

During football season (and by football I mean real football otherwise known as soccer) I wake up early saturday mornings and make my self some breakfast and drink bloody marys or Guiness while I watch Arsenal and who ever they're beating play. Usually by noon I'm gone.
Also, while I don't do it any more, a few years ago I was known for showing up to work drunk, not because I was drinking before work but because I was still drunk from the night before.
I thought stuff like that was normal...

Let my dying thought be that every mile was fun and let my tombstone read,"They never made one fast enough for me."

Nothing like waking up reaching for your favorite brew - usually on the floor beside the bed where you left it the evening before and chasing down a few good slugs to get the ole heart pumping.Ah! those were the days before we had to put up with all this Healthy lifestyle dribble.

I always tivo the games so i can watch them when the children are in bed.

And YES, i always have a beer or two poured into my Arsenal tankard, that sits on the Arsenal beer mat, that sits on the Arsenal bar top towel. But, if its a game that im a little worried about, then sometimes the beer isnt nerve carming enough, so then the scotch comes out. Poured of course in my Arsenal shot glass, that sits on the Arsenal beer mat that sits on the Arsenal bartop towel.

Oh and btw....only a few weeks and the season starts again

Ah, in my youth it was beer and donuts for breakfast at many a festival date. Sadly, the doctor says my "party quotient" has been expended so it's just a blurry memory.
