I wanted to be able to check/correct the wheel alignment with great accuracy after changing the counter sprocket on my BA.So today I went on a web search and found this great way to check and correct your front/rear wheel thrust alignment.Sorry but I do not know how to make the web site appear on my post.Anyway,it can be found by searching for "Wrenching With Rob" in the search field.I found it to be a very precise way of checking/setting the alignment. After using the method described in the article, I went out on a road test to enjoy the new gear change and see how well the alignment method worked.Hands off showed the bike to run straight as an arrow. There are several frame checking paragraphs also in the article, but these can be ignored. The method seemed a little complicated for me(but that's just me),but after reading and following the steps,it made sense and worked as described. The only change I made to his method was to use a piece of balsa wood to seperate the string at the front of the motorcycle.I found the rear wheel adjusters to be off from each other on my bike,by five bolt head flats. Not bad,but I wanted it to be as close as possible. Take a read and try it out if ya care to,and report back how it worked for ya.
