Mitch Hedberg was such a tragedy. I got to work with him twice and he was incredibly nice but with no confidence in his own act. Also, you never knew what you were going to get. He'd kill one show and be so wasted the next.
I was going to be his feature at the Improv in Baltimore the week he died. We were set to do a radio interview, I was at the station and they called his hotel room. His wife was in a panic. Just said he couldn't come to the phone and hung up. He and Hicks could have done so much.

Oooh, Derek and Clive! Now THERE'S some dark, bitter, nasty humor. Not for the easily offended though! Sitting though a Derek and Clive session can be simultaneously side-spittingly funny and painfully uncomfortable. And you a see a side of "cuddly Dudley" that is so far from "Arthur" and "10" that some folks wouldn't believe it's the same guy.
Peter Cook is at his most malevolent in the "Derek and Clive" alter egos - to the point, I think, of actually being hurtful towards Dudley Moore.
Anyone who hasn't sampled these guys should try to get hold of some of their stuff. But be warned; it is NOT for the timid and requires a BROAD sense of humor!

I would have to say, Matt Lessard. Every time he is working on his bike and I ask him if he needs any help, he says, "I know what I'm doing, I got it..." Makes me laugh so hard it hurts. Just kidding Matt!

Reading through these post made me remember a comedy team that no one has mentioned.
Derek and Clive, aka, Peter Cook and Dudley Moore.
If you can find a copy listen to an album called Derek and Clive Live. Side splittingly funny.
You can down load it from Limewire. I did.
Yes I forgot about those British guys. Dudley Moore was Hilarous. That also made me think John Cleese.

If someone one wants to start a thread on "Best Sit Com" then my vote goes to Fawlty Towers.
Or is that Farty Towels, no Forty Towers, oh im confused,

I will add George Wallace's name to the list. Funny stand-up without having to curse to be funny.

hey steve sixmil and the rest of you guys that like the old cosby stuff. check out his album (or c.d., or tape) hahahaha titled 200mph it is as funny as noah, i mean side splitting funny. he talks about sports cars and how Carrol Shelby builds him a car that will do over 200mph. if that dont make you laugh...you need a new funny bone!!!! i am laughing just being reminded of it, i think i am gonna have to go find that and listen again, i need a good laugh today
A lot of people don't realize that that routine is based on fact. Carroll Shelby built two supercharged A/C Cobras thatwould go over 200mph. One for himself, and one for Cos. Scared Cos so bad that he gave his back.
Check it out
