The truth is, the cam should be your last modification. Do everything else you're going to do first. When you're done with that, THEN you hunt up a reputable cam grinder, take your bike in and see about getting a grind that matches what you've done with the engine and what you intend to do with the bike. Drag racing, flat track, road racing or just hauling arse down the highway all call for different valve timing. For that matter, you would want different cams for 1/8, 1/4, and 1/2 mile drags.
