Calling all brake gurus. I've posted an ad in the classifieds seeking a TBS front hub for the dual disc conversion, but that project will cost somewhere near a grand.

What I'm looking at in this thread is a sort of ROI analysis. Do the sintered pads and floating rotor kit that Brent sells even come close to a (stock) dual disc set up? (Obviously dual floating rotors with sintered pads should beat stock dual discs.) Bellacorse lists some fancier components but apparently they only fit the T-100 and Thruxton. Is the $770 difference between Brent's kit and the stock dual discs worth the cost? Are there any other options for our bikes?

I'm asking because I got in trouble a couple times in BC last weekend due to brake fade. My bike runs outstanding but the brakes are seriously lacking. I'm running the sintered pads on stock rotors.

Okay FriarJohn, this is a wild one. What if you reversed the fork legs? That would put the caliper in front of the right leg. The extra cooling air would probably reduce your brake fade. The best part is it's almost free. Only costs your wrenching time.
