Does anyone know of anywhere to get the thumb screw type mixture adjustment screws without dropping $40?
I wondered why the frisbee was getting bigger......and then it hit me.

Those are also the ones for the CVK40s so the taper is much narrower than the stockers or Brent's. Here's a photo showing the difference (left is stock, middle is the CVK40 type, right is one of the pair I got from Don and are an exact copy of stock): Note the small size/taper of the CVK40 one...

I have a set for the cvk40 and I can not get the mixture screws to make a difference. I can screw them all the way in or all the way out and the bike still runs the same. I would like to try the ones from Brent but I also want to try the Mikuni's. So If you were looking for new mixture screws I would lean towards the ones that Brent sells. Just my opinion, but I think others have had similar problems with the cvk40 mixture screws.

If your mixture screws make no difference, your pilots are likely too big.

Ron, I had a similar problem with the CVK40 screws. I had them almost all the way in and it seemed even a 1/16" turn would screw them up. Could not get them to set right. Went back to the stocks until Don graciously sent me the ones he had made up by a friend of his.
Bryan, the CVK40 screws are just too small (taper) IMO. I was using 42 pilots when I had them in. I would advise against them and advise for getting thumb screws that have the stock taper.

Phil- Hmmm. Thats disappointing. I just sold a set to Rick (nologic) that started this thread. They are the ones from Bella Corse. I guess they are for the 40mm's? I assumed they were for our bikes. Now I feel bad- like I sold him junk or something.
I had the same problem when I was running 45's. I moved to 42's and they seem to work fine.
Rick- if they don't work, let me know- I'll give you your money back. I also have a set of stock screws that someone ground a slot into so a standard screwdriver would work that I can send you- or you could make a slot in your own.

Sorry about that. I was disappointed by them also. I got mine from another source but they are they same. btw, at one time I had thought about JB Welding some 'thumb screw heads' onto the the stock mixture screws. I was going to cut each part to interlock with each other. Then Don sent me perfect thumbscrews! Some food for thought perhaps?

Thanks Bryan. I'll let you know. I was going to ask you who they came from but I figured you knew that they were the right ones.

Hey. Who knew. One of our premier vendors is selling an item that is advertised as a product for our bikes. I have to assume it is until I learn it isn't.
If you want, you can just refuse the shipment. I'll refund your money either way.
