All Metric Road Bike has a nice write up on the Speedmaster in the Sept. issue that just came out. Also at the end there is a small section on " Triumph America's CEO on the Market and Future" One section is new models and says "Two new cruisers models will be launched in the next 18 months. One will be a derivative of a current model, the other a twin "bang in the middle between the Speedmaster and the Rocket. So, it would be around 1600cc to 1800cc... You've seen Triumphs in the past. We've come out with a base model and derivatives. That engine platform is going to have different derivatives based on the market segment that the USA will Require." In another section it says "I think the two models we've got coming..{are} going going to be phenomenal for us. We could be doing the volume that we're doing now, just with one model." Hope its half of what he makes it sound like.

It'll be 2 865 twins cobbled together into a 1730 cc square 4.

I'm on the fence with this. I don't plan on ever selling my Speedy, so I have a hard time getting worked up over any new models that Triumph plans to come out with, since they have about zero impact on what I'll be riding in the forseeable future. I also enjoy that when I ride my Triumph, it gets noticed, because there aren't that many on the road compared to just about any other marque out there. If there are more and more Triumphs on the road, then it won't have the cache that it does now to ride one. Sounds kinda effete, but I'm just being upfront.
On the other hand, it's nice that Triumph has a management who looks ahead at market share and is willing to invest to keep the company healthy by introducng new models to appeal to riders who may not have previously considered Triumph as a make they'd own and ride.
I guess I'll wait with the rest of everyone else to see exactly what they plan on coming up with. If the new models are as butt ugly as the Rocket III, I'll pass.

It wont be a V Twin, Triumph is committed to Parallel( Vertical )Twins and Triples, that is their heritage and they will play it up to the max.

I think a bike that looks like ours with a bigger motor still air cooled and carberated and over 1,000cc is what most are looking for.I think the new one will most likely be fuel injected to meet emissions. I agree with above, it will have little impact on what I ride since I can't afford another bike. Ian

the only way I'd consider one if it was water cooled. There's too much traffic around here to deal with another air cooled bike too big to lane split with.
