Some more advice....
Get one of those nail files with the diamond dust on it (thinnest is best). File the edges so it is slightly wider than the fuse leg and narrow enough to fit into one of the leg slots and use this to clean up the metal connectors (I also cut mine down to about 2" long).
Once everything is clean, put a good coating of di-electric grease (any parts store has it) on the fuse legs and re-install fuses.
