Hey folks, this is more then likely in the wrong forum, but feel it will get more notice in the lounge. Just got this from Triumph today, and being the coils on the Bonnie line have been a problem over time, I wanted to pass it along.
Affected Models: Bonneville/T100, America, Speedmaster, Thruxton and Scrambler.
Should a bike (see above) demonstrate faulty ignition coil type symptoms (most commonly an engine misfire), please initially check and adjust the ignition pick-up (IPU) air gap (we recommend an air gap of 0.8mm).
Since changing the IPU air gap in production to 0.8mm, we have had no ignition coil warranty claims.
So, there's been a change in the spec on the air gap.
Also, for those of you who use an OE oil filter, the size of the filter has changed. The Triumph filter wrench no longer fits. A Honda filter wrench works perfectly. You'll know if you have the new filter by the box, which is now white, as the old filter was in a blue box.
Cheers
