I dropped off my rear fender and tank for powdercoating today. I've been waffling between flat black, gloss black and red metalflake. When I got there, I was checking out all the color sample swatches and samples of finished parts. I ended up settling on a color called Warm Bronze.
It's a semi-flat color, with a texture similar to 600 grit sandpaper. The way the sunlight hits it, it sort of has a metalflake look to it, but indoors (or at night) it looks much flatter. I can't explain why, but the color just popped for me and I can't say I've ever seen a bike painted this color before. I think it will look great with the chrome dash, badges and satin black chassis parts.
The big question in my mind is how the red metalflake seat will look on the bike? I guess I'll know pretty soon.
