Sorry fellas, but I'll lay ya even odds that during The Great Depression actual crime rates were as high, if not higher, than they are today. Official reporting of all crimes, along with general reporting by The Media of crime today is much more sophisticated than it was back in the 1930s, to say nothing of systemic racism and other anti-social phenomenon of that era.
