Ugh.. This is turning in to a long day. I got everything put back together after replacing some parts because I dropped the bike. Fired her up, put it in first gear and it stalls like the clutch isn't disengaged. I adjusted the cables some and the action looks to be fine. After laying the bike down, I rode it home without any problems (aside from it being a pain because the shifter was bent) so I don't know how anything could be wrong with the clutch itself.

So, before I take the clutch cover off, is there anything obvious I'm missing?

Don't like to be doom and gloom, but it could be bad.
Does the rear wheel move freely with the clutch released?
If not, you may have bent or broken some internal transmission parts (shift drum, forks) when you dropped it and the trans is locked.

I see you rode it home, but that may have been good luck.

Doh! Sidestand switch!

So.. I went out, and yes, it does roll freely. Sidestand up, put it in gear, pulled the clutch and started it.. let the clutch out, and the clutch doesn't engage. Adjusted it some (I'd overdone the tightening thinking it wasn't disengaging) and voila. I'm in a much better mood now.

Can you pull the lever in? I had this happen at 6K miles. It took only a few hours to fix under warranty. The shaft that rotates when you pull the clutch in had rotated too far and got stuck somehow. The dealer disassembled everything and put it back together. No parts were damaged and everything has worked perfectly since. They had never seen it happen before, and the only thing they saw that could have caused it was a clutch basket that was a little loose.
