Cutting glass cleanly above 1/2 inch is tough with out a wet saw with either a diamond or carborundum wheel. A tricorner file can score small tubing, wet the score and if the tubing is long enough, it can be snapped off. It still has to be ground smooth or fire polished. That requires a gas and oxygen torch. Not much help I'm afraid.
