I need a new rear tire so I went shopping today. I didn't see any avon's in the right size at the nearest bike shop but they had a sale on a Bridgestone "Spitfire" in the right size. Has anyone tried this type of tire? And if so do you think it's worth $160?? Canadian of course.

Thanks

I paid $95 for my IRC Wild Flame has a flame pattern tread that looks cool and so far seems to be a good tire. Git it at my local custom Harley shop. Stock size to replace my Metz 880.

Some good buys here as well.

I just put a set of Bridgestone Spitfire on mine. To early to tell anything about the tread life. It dose not have the same feel as the Avons did. The Avons held the road like glue!

This is my first rear tire change. I've never rode on Avons so wouldn't know the difference. As long as nobody's had major problems I think I'll go ahead with it. The weather is too nice to change it out right now, and it's only just down to the wear bars. If it is going to rain next week then I'll take it to get changed.

Thanks

I'm on my third Avon Venom rear tire and the second front. Decent mileage and great handling. It will take something really great from another manufacturer to get me to switch.

We all like to think of ourselves as rugged individualists. But when push comes to shove most of us are sheep who do what we are told. Worst of all, a lot of us become unpaid agents of whoever is controlling the agenda by enforcing the current dogma on the few rugged individualists who actually exist.

I love um. Only tires I would put on my bike. I got 16000 out of my front and rear (they were real beat but they lasted)

My 880 lasted about 13,000 miles I replaced it with an IRC Wild Flame and so far love the tire can't speak to mileage yet but so far seems to be wearing well and holds the road well.

I will stick with the Metz. I am on my third front (just put on at 29,000 miles), and will break down and buy my third rear at about 36,000.

I thought a decent burn-out was where the tire spins until it shreads on the first try?
