In the past, if a particular fastener was not available in the US, you could check with Paul at Custom Fasteners in England.
No more.
His insurance doesn't let him ship outside UK/EEC anymore.
I wonder if a member here who can do it might source from him and forward to me.

I'm interested in M12-1.25 nylon insert locknuts - chrome.
5 of 'em, for the rear sprocket.

Alternatively, if anyone knows of a US source for same, please advise.

I'm gonna give 'em a lick and promise by polishing the yellow off, but chrome would be nice.
The plating shop I use would probably do 'em for me, but I kinda hate to ask them for such a piddly job.

I got the same thing at Ace Hardware. They have quite a selection I saw them at True Value too but not sure what sizes they have, they are somewhat limited here compared to Ace. even though I like True Value better because they give me a discount. If not there is Fastenol sp?

Interesting.
I went to the local (Westlake) Ace & they just had M12-1.75.
Their Servalite guy is pretty flaky, but this one wasn't his fault.
No empty spot for 1.25.

Maybe your store has a bigger selection?
Let me know if they still have some.

There's three Ace Hardware stores around here. Only one of them carries chrome and SS fasteners in metric. Go figure.... Needless to say, I do not frequent the other two. When I asked about this, I was told they are independently owned and operated and it's up to the owner/manager what to stock.

Are there any other Aces near your locale?

Yeah.
There's one about 20 mi. away.
Same ownership as the one here.
It happens to be close to a bike shop I visit from time to time.
My guess would be same stock, but it might be worth a peek.
At minimum, they probably don't have all the same stockouts as the one here, but you know it's the same Servalite guy.
I think he likes to mix some 5/16-24 in with the M8-1.25 just to mess with me.

See Shaun's post above.
Everybody knows this forum is awesome.
Here's more evidence to that effect.

Many thanks to all.

I have an account with Gardner Wescott!
I checked them first & didn't see it.
There it is, P/N 17963.
Man, I feel like a blamed idjit.

Apologies to Shaun for the trouble.
