I had the same problem!! Be sure that you get the KA6236 model.
Also, why not save your old grips, instead of cutting them off. Simply wedge something (like a flathead screw driver) between the grip & bar & shoots some WD-40 under the grips. In 30 seconds, you can wiggle them around & pull them off.
