Not sure if this needs to go in Customs or Other Bikes. It's both. Go here and click on "See the bike GMG built for Green Day's Billie Joe Armstrong."

Pretty awesome. The owner of GMG was on Adam Carolla's radio show yesterday (because he broke the cannonball coast-to-coast record in a Ferrari) and when talking about his shop mentioned that this guy wrecked his new Triumph (probably a Thruxton) so they built him a custom. I DIG that springer front end. I want one. DROOL.

That one looks familiar. Might be because it looks a lot like this one. Hmmm...both were made in the Dallas area. Looks to me like Billie Joe Armstrong is just another Kid Rock saying; "Build me one just like this."

Yeah, I'm cynical like that.

Is that a stock Thruxton frame that's been "hardtailed"? Gotta love the springer and the style although I have to admit I'd want a front brake.

A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort. Herm Albright (1876 - 1944)

Yep same bike. Or at least the same wall they took the picture in front of! I dig it tho. I think a contoured metal seat like Tommy's would look the business.

Are the H-D type springers able to just bolt on to our bikes? Do we have to lengthen or shorten the tubes? This means that one would have to get a new front rim/tire/brake set up too, correct?

Um, no. But it shouldn't be too hard or super expensive to order one up to fit. I've got an extra steering shaft and bottom yoke. If/when I springerize my bike I'd send that to a company like Paugho and tell them to make me one that fits like this, and specify the rake and trail.
