Yeah, but that's how the new technology gets developed. Has to start somewhere.

Tend to agree with you on that one. This is just the first step. Give it a few years and they will probably get some decent performance from electric bikes.
Can't quite see the "Loud Pipes Save Lives" crowed buying into it though.

I guess my thoughts on an electric bike that you plug in is that it still requires some sort of fuel to make the electricity. Perhaps there is some greenhouse gas savings.. but I would wonder how much further a head you would be? just my 2 cents Trev

That's almost the price of a Rocket 3!!! 40 - 50 miles to a charge, and their idea of an average commute is 28 miles. That's 56 miles round trip so, unless you can get away with parking it by your workplace and recharging it, you aren't going to get home. Guess it's a good excuse, "The battery ran down, so I had to stop at the bar and recharge it." Since they only give a 0 - 30 time, I guess it won't do 60. So much for people who have to take the freeway.

There is huge money to be made in political corectness, especially enviromentalism. That company was smart to do their press releases in Portland (one of the biggest liberal socilaist enviromentalist armpits of the U.S.)

True, but there are many ways of creating electricity (wind, solar, water, nuclear) and from what I understand, even if you use coal to creat electricity it is still cleaner than burning petrolium. Plus we wouldn't be depending on countries that hate our guts and everything we stand for (Iran, Venezuela) for the energy.

There is obviously more money to be made in OIL as EXON's former CEO's 400 million dollar retirment package and the entire oil industry's record profits prove. Give this technology time and it will become better and cheaper.
I'm sure that this company is a grain of salt in comparison.
