 Design ideas on a "quicklift" anyone?

I put a new rearwheel on last week and was forced to wiggle the bike up on some old tires and I was not happy, so I figured I go and make a "quicklift" for it, any design ideas? I was thinking something like this: 
Noone can hear you scream of joy in your helmet..so please do when riding and fealing free..

I basically made the one Martin is referring to. Yes you are overcomplicating it as usual  The handle is hardly load bearing... I made my handle out of a 2X3 scrap I had laying around. The trick is securing it to the base well so it will turn, that's why the pipe idea is good. But I liked NOT having metal pipe swinging around my bike! It sure does make chain maintenence easier. If you are gonna go steel like that and have the resources, I say go for it! Just base the dimensions off the size of boards they are talking about in the link above. And don't squish your filter.

Not sure whats available to you in Sweden but the hydraulic bike jacks are not expensive over here. Harbor Freight (not sure if you can order from them) has one for about $50 US I have one and like it. Sears over here does too if you have a store similar you might want to go check them out.

We all like to think of ourselves as rugged individualists. But when push comes to shove most of us are sheep who do what we are told. Worst of all, a lot of us become unpaid agents of whoever is controlling the agenda by enforcing the current dogma on the few rugged individualists who actually exist.

Magnus I have used that exact lift many times - easy for one person to use, and can lift either front or rear. If you are thinking of buying one, I would say they are well worth the money.  Shaun

I have the same. About $10 in parts. (2, 2"x6"'s screwed together, pipe fitting, pipe) Works great. I also have the Sears hydraulic lift, but use my homemade one more frequently for oil changes/chain lube tasks. Sometimes it's a hassle to strap the bike to the lift and it will not fall off the homemade lift. Give it a shot!

I added a piece of 3/4 plywood along the side to give it a little extra lift. The only thing I didn't either already have, or get for free, was the 3/4 inch flange I used to attach the pipe to the boards. I went for two years until I got a Sears lift on sale. The wooden lift works great for oil changes and chain adjustments but not to remove the rear wheel.

are you refering to the first picture as the sears lift or are you just metioning sears lift as a good lift. I made one of the wooden ones. I want the one in the original picture of the post.
