Hey there,
My cheap mini ape hangers are not knurled and after trying them on they fit me quite well, but they were able to be moved after tightening. Anyone have any ideas on how to fix them. Or do I have to sell them and get a knurled set. I am going to have to get all new cables as well. So there is no rush as I can't afford them yet!
Cheers

Try wrapping a peice of rubber or something (like a piece of inner-tube rubber) around the bars. That should keep them from slipping.

Maybe emery cloth cut to the width of the riser clamps and glued on with some 3M Hi-strength 90?

My recollection is a little fuzzy in the 20 years since I read Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance, but there was a part, long before the author went insane, where he talks about fixing just this problem. He just cut out a shim from an aluminum pop can to fit. Snugged it right up.

Best way to fix that is with a center punch punch rings of center punch dimples around the bars and you have instant knurling. Be sure to pad the bars with a towel as not to scratch them.

Loctite?

We all like to think of ourselves as rugged individualists. But when push comes to shove most of us are sheep who do what we are told. Worst of all, a lot of us become unpaid agents of whoever is controlling the agenda by enforcing the current dogma on the few rugged individualists who actually exist.
