Posting this thread for folks considering lowering their bike:
I had my bike lowered (front and rear) by my dealer using Progressive parts and below are my initial impressions:
•The ride is certainly better •Bike handles well •Above all I think it looks great
I had to install a shorter side- stand as the bike is now almost 2 inches lowered from front and back.
Now to the bad part – lowering the bike impacts my riding style, while cornering/ sharp turns make the pipes scrape the road as the bike is too low. This has only happened twice so I need to take it easy while turning/cornering. I will see how this goes and might need to turn up the setting on the rear shocks.

Brit, Sounds cool, where's the pictures, man??? Be careful, losing chrome carries about a $500 fine around here. Ride Safe, Dennis

I had my bike lowered using progressives. I too needed to put on a shorter kick stand...which I tend to drag on low left turns as well... but I have never dragged a pipe.

You know, Epco Stainless does custom work as well as build off-the-shelf pipe sets. I'd bet they could put together a set of high TT style pipes for you.

Mikey - I got it done from Great Bay.It has happened twice only and also while taking a sharp low left but it surely felt like it was the pipe that dragged.
If you own that custom Chrome Triumph beauty I saw it at Great bay -Sharp Bike Mate

Britrover, We lowered our custom and love it. The loss of a bit of chrome is worth it because it just looks so much better. Just enjoy and ride it like you stole it!

Good luck with your lowered bike. They look COOL lowered. The only problem is I hope you ride solo. If not your going to bottom out over bumps and that sucks. Ride Safe Redz

I got Sceptres and they DRAAAGGG horrible in the corners. I now push my heel down low on the peg when I turn so it touches before the pipes. I love the look too so I won't be changing anytime soon.

It’s been about 2 years since I lowered my bike. I still use my original kickstand. As far as scraping the pipes, I have the D&D’s on mine. They slant upward towards the rear of the bike, which allows me to take the corners very sharp and not scrape the pipes. The floorboards will scrape before the pipes will.

Fred,
What sidestand did you find that works with your lowered TBA as mine has been lowered front and rear as well (about 2") and I have the original sidestand, but, the bike sits almost straight up and if the bars were cranked all the way to the right while on the sidestand it would fall over. I always crank them left when parked but it makes me nervous that it's a little too upright while parked.

Jaymo,
I'm still using my original kickstand. I know what you mean about getting nervous at times, but so far I have never had my bike fall over because of the stand. Just gotta remember to turn the front wheel to the left when you park her....
