You can always hook a scope up to the little wires from the sensor to see if you are getting a pulse. Probably need just a 40Mhz scope or so to see it. This should at least tell you if it is a sensor or a CDI issue. Maybe Matt can send you his spare unit he has now - it doesn't work in the rain though.
