What options exist for cruise control on BA/SM? I did a quick search of the archives and only found a thread describing a neat little paddle-type lever that you velcro to the throttle. It's a possiblity, but I'm curious about options.

She plays castanets, she works without a net, I like her better when she walks away.

You also have a unit that fits between the grip and the throttle housing that holds the throttle open under pressure

I use a .99 cent o-ring between the grip and throttle housing. Works great.

Most of the "throttle lock" type of controls should work on our bikes. The "brakeaway" is the best, as it turns itself off automatically when you apply the front brakes (or by pressing a button) but it's very expensive too. There's several companies that make proper electronic cruise controls for bikes, and I've seen websites that talk about modifying car cruise controls to work on bikes too.

I have the little velcro paddle thing. I'd ONLY use it if I was going to be on the highway for a long time, because it's sorta strange otherwise. The cool thing is you can just take it off and put it in the pocket...

Hey Greg, I was considering a Vista (had one on my Trident and loved it) but I understand that the VistaCruise for 1" bars are relatively new and that Universal Vistas for 1" take some work to make fit. Whats the real scoop? I'd like to have something better than the throttle rocker-rubber band setup (although it worked for 3000 miles).
This 1" for HDs looks promising. Is it the one you're using?
