Not everyone is as fashion conscious as you are Yota. I may never look as good as you do, but I'll be cooler in my white t-shirt. White is also more likely to hide evidence of man-love.

My bike is gathering dust in the garage. I haven't been riding for two weeks because of the 100 degree plus temps.
Today is supposed to be 103. I'm going to start praying for an early mild September. I'd much rather ride when it's 42 then 102. I'm such a I know I will wash and wax the bike, lube the chain and get ready for the Big 1st Annual BA.com Ouachita Rally. That will snap me out of this "Heat Funk". I'll just have to do it at 6am when it's 76.

Bring it on over Donny. We can use the bike jack Angelis gave me and lube your chain also. Remember I said 6 am Saturday morning when it's 76 degrees out.

21 more days and we'll find out.

I ordered some new brake pads this week, so hopefully I won't go flying off the side of the mountain. Now that I think about it- if I do go flying off a cliff somebody better take a pic of me in mid air, because if I live through it I'd like to see that. I'll try to stay calm and not freak out because I wouldn't want to look stupid in the picture. I'll try to maintain a "I meant to do this" sort of look on my face.

OK rural roads are rough. Just ask my back. Although OK 1 (that the picture is of that you commented on) was decent. You'll be able to ride that as fast as traffic allows. One section had one lane closed with no flagmen. A sign said, "One lane-Watch for oncoming traffic." Nice...

Right outside OKC east of town and a bit south are major hills. Straight rural roads that have potholes rough patched pavement and tar snakes. You'll crest a hill then loose your stomach as the road drops out from under you laughing and carrying on until you have to dodge all the stuff mentioned above as you descend to the bottom and start the wind up to the next crest! Dang. The first 25 miles leaving OKC was fun. Hang on though. I didn't encounter small mountains until I got closer to Lake Eufaula (one of the top ten Crappie lakes in North America too).

Texas' FM roads are the worst I have ever ridden on and the one I was on was paved. Finding myself airborne most of the time on FM2491 I slowed down to about 45.

Somewhere between OKC and Lake Eufaula on Oklahoma 9 (At a length of 350 miles, OK 9 is the 2nd longest state highway in Oklahoma).

You know Yota, we could just throw Nathen off a mountain to get that picture. Then we wouldn't have to worry about any neat-o parts on his bike getting ruined in a crash. Dang, sometimes I come up with a really good plan!

BTW, I have my time off and coverage at my model all set up so the only thing that can stop me now is an inability to stand the smell. I am rooming with Nathen after all.

Another good road is highway 21 just south out of Berryville,Ar,great scenery and it has one ****** of a drop off when you get close to Lost Valley, about a 2 mile steep grade with sheer cliffs on your right. That is one of my favorite roads so far and then the tight turns going up 74 to Jasper ,its one fine road!
