I use the Motul as well. No more clunk after the belt-drive, and T-Bird cush-drive. Anyone with serious clunk should check for play in the stock cush-drive, mine had a lot of slop, it was noticebly worn after 9,000 miles.

I always thought that "clunk" was the nature of the bike. Ive used 3 different brands of oil with Motul 5100 being the latest and no "clunck" change. Same as before, no better no worse.

I quit using Brent's when I noticed the jug said it was a blend, and I assumed it was not fully synthetic. All while paying a premium price.

Yes the 5100 is a blend.it has the ester oil in it which binds to the metal so you never have metal to metal at start up.full synthetic oils will find a weak part in a gasket and leak.

No more clunk because the belt stretches and absorbs the inertia where a chain doesn't.

Mine doesn't 'tonk' when I start it in 1st gear If it tonks from 1st to 2nd, I shift a little faster. No more tonk.
