The tire and fender finally arrived today. Here are a few pics of the new look. I still hate I lost the custom paint but all in all not bad. I had to spiff the badges just a touch to get a little different look and yep I am a chrome junky...got a little crazy with the chrome molding. LOL, note the STOCK chain guard..no more chrome on that particular item for me. The chain has a tight spot in it. I am afraid that will have to be replaced as well. Finally, I can get back on the road!

new tire and paint after the chain guard issue

filled badges.gotta love testors!

Gotta love that chrome trim.

Nice bike Joe .....Hey does that seat have a rider's backrest accomodation? In the picture it looks like a Corbin seat that has a slot for the backrest to fit in? Thanks

Good deal. I sent Triumph your name/number in my letter. Haven't seen my new chainguard yet, but hopeful. I'd give Peter a call if I were you, what do you have to lose?

Just an idea... after seeing the ingenuity on this site for making rider's backrests from a chunk of flat steel and a used backrest, I've been tempted to make a more compact backrest for my Corbin, maybe just a few inches tall to support my lower back. All it should take is a piece of square stock that fits in the "receiver" built in the Corbin seat, a flat plate bolted or welded to that square stock for mounting the backrest to. Might try to fab something up this winter.

Even if you have to pay someone to weld up the two bits you should be able to get'er done for $50 or so. The Corbin backrest also has a set screw to secure the backrest so it can't be removed without taking the seat off, but I don't often use that set screw. But if you wanted to use that it's one hole to drill and tap.

(Hmmmm...let's see here...This guy's got an absolutely beautiful '02 Cardinal Red BA with many of the same touches that I've done to my '02 Cardinal Red BA)

You know Mr.Ezell, I think we probably ARE "kin folk" somewhere or somehow!!!

Congrats on gettin' back on the road, "Cousin"!

Wait a minute...I just remembered that "Cousin" Joe posted his pictures of that beautiful red BA o' his on a Ford F150 website, and NOT a CHEVY SILVERADO website.

(okay...DISTANT cousins, maybe)

LMAO, easy Cousin.....blood only goes so far. I was raised on Fords. My dad drove me home from the hospital in a 69 Torino GT 351W 4-speed Presidental blue hard top with the shaker hood.....man I hate he sold that car. To each his own.....I have been in a few bow-ties that I really liked but when it is my $$$, ol Henry builds em like I like em. Thanks on the ride...funny they do look a lot a like. Somewhere in all that is a "great minds" reference or maybe "infamous" comment.

A Ford Torino huh?! Okay, I'll go out on a limb here and guess that your branch of our family tree must have a few Starskys and/or Hutches dangling from it somewhere then too, right?!
