What is the status of the Future Fund? I for one would like to support the site with more than just my wit, intelligence, and good looks. (Ignore any comments by Dwight or Ian - they don't know me.)

He was fun while he lasted.

Yeah, I saw that. I just wanted to make sure the contributions weren't to the moderator beer fund.

I think this is a valid question, John.

What about our "FUTURE FUND"?

I am happy to contribute more/again, if still solicited and warranted. Where does it go? Where does it stand?

HOW IS THIS SITE GOING TO CHANGE WHEN THE NEW TRIUMPH CRUISERS ARRIVE?

It is going to depend on if it is called Speedmaster or America. If it called anything else, then someone can build a forum for it.

No one has an answer? Kinda dampens my enthusiasm for contributing.

Any contributions go to the guy who pays for the bandwidth out of his own pocket. While the fund was originally set up, against the owner's wishes, to pay for the forum software and (I believe a hard drive or three), there is no specific item or tangible asset the money goes toward. There are still bills to pay. That said, the moderators don't have anything to do with it.

Anyway, contributions are not required. Do what ever you feel comfortable doing. No worries.

This is MY opinion only and not the opinion of the POWERS THAT BE . I have benefitted manifold from this forum , entertainment , comaraderie and VALUABLE advice that has saved me LOTS of cash , even today , for example , there was a post about a bike jack at Sears on sale , I went and got one . You KNOW you have benefitted from this thing as I have , and I'm willing to support it BEFORE an embarassing solicitation from the owner to keep it alive . Moral - if you listen to the music , PUT SOME CASH IN THE JAR ! It 's easy , click on and hit PayPal from your account and you will get a warm fuzzy feeling and that guilt will just fly away !! I'll shut up now .

I tried that rationale to explain what happened to a bunch of $1 bills when I went out for an evening at a "gentleman's club" with the boys. Wife didn't buy off on it, but it was worth a shot though...

Better idea - " honey , I'm gonna stay home with you tonite and NOT go to the gentlemens club , but I MAY take a peek at the BA forum ." Your dollars will go further . PS - man , we were givin 'em dollars in the 70 's - so much for inflation !

Well said, and I agree. That was the reason for my initial inquiry.

I wonder if it's tax deductible? Like therapy. Maybe my medical insurance will cover it.

I certainly can't. Despite my girth I'm a lightweight when it comes to boozin' it up.
