Has anyone had experience with Clearview Windshields-good or bad? I need to replace my roadster shield with something taller and Clearview has good prices plus they use the Triumph brackets. But Clearview is backed up 8 weeks. National cycle says their windshields have an extra layer of hardness. Any opinions appreciated.

I've had a Clearview roadster replacement for a couple of years. It does a great job. The only problems are spiderweb cracks around the mount holes from overtightening the nuts. Just use some loc-tite and carefully snug them down. It also seems to be a bit thin. It flexes a bit at speed, not severe and probably not noticeable anywhere but from a saddle view, but not something that would happen if the plastic were just a few mils thicker.

I have the Summer Screen Clearview replacement. I think it is better quality than the Triumph screen I had - not to mention working much better. The Mulberry Red America in their web site pictures with the SS replacement is my bike.
Great product, great company and worth the wait.

I was very satisfied with my Nat'l Cycle Dakota windshield once I got used to the visual distortion. Don't know if it's just taht lower line shield or if all others distort like that...

I didn't remember it until I saw Roadie's post. Initially, I thought the Clearview glare was unbelievably distracting. Now, I don't even notice it. So if that is the decision, give it some time so you can get used to it, but be careful that the glare may be too distracting. That may be totally different from others who use it without problem from day 1.
I really like the size of the Roadster/Clearview, but really wish the mount hardware allowed for some kind of adjustment. Guess it's meant more for looks than use.

I never noticed any glare problem with my Clearview. It definitely wasn't any more glare than the Summer Screen. I strongly recommend the light gray tint as the clear ones reflect more light which might be part of the glare problem. The light tint is hardly noticeable and actually looks much more transparent than the clear windshields. The light tint is pretty much the same as the tint on the factory Summer Screen.

Definitely the light grey is a good option and just make sure you go through the process on the website that show's you how to choose the correct height shield. This is imperitive as the head wind needs to go over your helmet not into you face and a couple of inches can make the difference. I strongly recommend this shield as I've had no problems and gives very good protection. Recently for instance I had to ride through a storm so I just tucked myself behind my shield and it was brilliant. My buddy though didn't have one and he nearly suffered exposure from the cold wet blast of the head wind. I'd never be without a good shield now.

One recommendation for everyone with windscreens. When you clean, don't use a circular motion, rather use long strokes up and down. This really helps in the later life of the windscreen as it cuts down the "bloom" of oncoming headlights at night.

From their web site:
Note: These Shields are Designed to Mount to the OEM Triumph Roadster Brackets. (we do not offer any brackets)
What OEM brackets?

I've had a Clearview screen on my Venture for about a year now. The light tint does not affect your view at night, you barely even notice it during the day. I like it because you can use Rain-X on it, which sheds the rain off at speed. I have the extra large, which blocks all the wind for Robin on the back, but I do have to look through it, not over it. The clearview does not have a hard outer coating on it, so you can polish the lighter scratches off of it.

"Original Equipment Manufacturer", I believe it usually refers to one Company (Triumph Inc.) outsourcing specific parts to another mfr.
The roadster brackets are a direct fit for the Clearview x-large screen. I have both and currently have the roadster screen back on. If I wasn't such a , I'd go sans screen.

I also have the clearview replacement for my summer screen and Love the shield, the best quality I've seen so far.

I know the whole OEM thing. But it sounds like you have to buy two windshields - the OEM from Triumph and the Clearview - to be able to mount the Clearview. Is this correct? If so, I just scratched Clearview off my wish list.
PS. If I wasn't such an old f**t, I'd go sans screen, too.

Once you get used to riding with the right size windshield you never go bareback again. Over the weekend I took a 20-mile ride on the slab w/o a shield and it was brutal.

You can purchase the mouting hardware from Triumph for about $80. Then purchase the Clearview and still come out cheaper thna a Triumph Roadster windshield. The roadster is better than no windshield at all but there is too much buffeting with it. The wind coming over the top hits my helmet right above my eyes.
