If you were to choose between Bub's and Epco's which would you go with? Now I've heard the Bubs at idle and slightly cranked up which really sounded good, but I've yet to have a chance to hear the Epcos. At the moment running long TORs.

I'd buy the Bubs, but either one is a homerun.

if its the bub slash cuts i would go bubs hands down. if it was the other style i would go epco. unless you have a major preference between stainless vs chrome. the epcos will never have a rust issue

Got Epco's on mine. Went to the factory, which is in Germantown, OH. I liked the fact that any marks can be polishe out, and If I can't do it I can go there and they'd do it for me.

Was running TORs and when I mounted the new EPCO's I felt like I had just went to straight pipes. Such a difference. Now they do not seem as loud as I am getting used to them. Good comments from others, but I may try pulling the easily removable baffles for a kick and maybe to break some windows.

Since I ride with guys who have epco’s and bub’s on their bikes, I lean towards the epco’s. Either are good pipes and have a nice sound to them, but I like the sound of the epco’s better.

Just to toss out two more options to consider, BC Predators and Specialty Spares.

I will be ordering my America in the coming days, and will pick it up after I get back from overseas in July. I will need to practice for a few weeks, before I meet up with my brother, down in OR, for some riding.
Someone here on the board recently suggested to me Specialty Spares or BC Predators for pipes. I did some research on the two and like them both but something about the Predators appeal to me. I figured, since I am dropping the money on my new (and first) bike, I might as well get the Predators now, rather than later.

I'm not familiar with the Predators, but I really like my Specialty Spares. The company support is great and they have jet and AI removal kits you can get with the exhausts at a great deal.

Hey Steve, have you contacted BC? From their website, I don't see the Predators separated from their performance package?

btw, we have Predators on my wife's T100 and as anyone who has heard them can tell you, they are absolutely awesome. Whole different sound on the Bonny though!

Thanks for asking.
No not yet, I will place the order for the bike first. Since I am getting a new bike, I will be looking to modify the airbox. The dealer, for the same price of the BC Performance package, would install TOR's and Unifilter.

The Freak conversion seems to be the better option than the unifilter. Plus, with the Freak, I get the extra storage underneath the seat.
So I will start out with the Predators and the Freak conversion from day one (remove AI and rejet of course).

I am not looking for real loud pipes, got to be considerate of the neighbours.

Have you listened to the Epco sound file on this page? It's the one at the top. I'd say it's fairly representative of the sound. Although my name is on that file, I didn't record it...it came from Brent's site. I do have Epco's though. Finally got tired of the noise and put my drilled out stockers on.

I've heard the sound bite for thosethose ... You're right they're not for me.

I got tired of my TORS and put my stock mufflers back on. I seem to lose a little roll on power around 70 and above but I kind of like the quiet.

Just a heads up, I'll start a fresh thread on this with what details I have, but BC is no longer offering the Predators for the America. Guess I will be looking at Specialty Spares. Not sure if I will go Freak now or just go Unifilter for now.

Dang it!!!

Has anyone purchased the pipes from the guy on ebay? He modifies them himself & no rejetting is required. They sound great when you listen to the sound bite provided. The price is worth the shot too. He seems like a nice guy also.

I have. That's how I got started on the whole pipe journey I'm on now. They are still quite subdued, and restrictive. If you are after a little deeper tone and a little more volume, and you want it to look stock, the are an alternative. He was a very nice guy to deal with.

The up side is you can keep knocking out baffles until you get them right.

Then you can ruin them by knocking out the converters and ripping the tabs so they leak.

Then you can weld up the cracks and weld a washer in the back for backpressure that goes shooting out the back at 80 mph.

Then you can throw them away and buy some JC Whitney pipes for a cool guy here on BA.com and ruin those trying to get the baffles out.

Then buy some Khrome Werks slip ons and hate those.

Then build some custom fishtails for a mere $250 that are so stinkin loud you can't think

Then you can buy some stockers to start over with from Paula, that get smashed by FedEx in shipping.

Then, you can leave boo-hoo rants on other peoples posts...

I am very happy with my Epcos. The sound is good, they gave me a good power increase and, being made of stainless steel, they don't rust. had them for nearly 4 years now and still love them.

Oh yeah, they are formed instead of welded, so there is no weld quality problem.
