In this area, even some of the main roads are not paved and most of the highways are only partly paved. I often take the dirt road into town because it's usually smoother than the paved one.
There are a couple of exercises that may help. Extend your arms to the sides and twist left and right as far as you can. Same starting position, alternately touch your toes (at least as nearly as possible) with the opposite hand, right hand to left toes, straighten up, then left hand to right toes.
