Thanassis, don't confuse Marienplatz with the Odeonplatz. Marienplatz is where the Glockenspiel is and the Neues Rathaus. Odenplatz is a half-circle plaza at the end of Ludwigstrasse, which runs right through the University, and ends at the Feldherrenhalle (Hall of Generals, where Hitler staged his Putsch, and members of the Freikorps set up machine gun nests to fight the Army and Police). It's also right next to the Hofgarten (also very nice), so shouldn't be hard to find. Oh, it's also directly opposite the Theatiner Church, a large mustard-yellow church with black domes!! Very striking! If you need directions, call me, I can walk you through it, been to Munich more times than I care to remember, actually, no, I like remembering them all!!
