Does anyone know if there is a difference in power between UK and US TBA's. Over here (UK) our stock bikes are claimed to produce 62hp. Although I just looked on the Triumph UK site and the new 865cc ones are only 54hp!!. Mine is an 04 with TOR's ,AI removed, and a K&N filter. Stock jets etc and it runs really well. Plenty of power and it flies if you wind it up ie: if you leave it in 4th its quick up to say 80mph then into 5th. I just put an 19t sprocket on and for me its so much nicer to ride. Round where I live ..(small rural windy roads where all the mad sport bikers come to die) I find that I no longer use 5th. Anyway ..thought I would mention this as I really don't feel that I want to improve the bikes performance at all..it seems to suit the bike just fine...it is a cruiser after all!
In 07, the America got the Speedmaster 865 motor. It has less HP but more torque than the 790. The power tapers off, and that is what all the cam discussions are about- putting 790 cams in the 865/specs on Thunderbike cams/ etc...
2002 Bandit 1200/ GSXR cams/ 1277 BB Kit/ Holeshot header and can/ 38mm flatslides/ a good head/lotsa hp/lotsa tq- lots of rear tires...
Thanks for the answer! That explains it. The one thing I do feel would be an improvement is more bottom end torque for lazy riding. I will keep an eye on those 865 cam posts.
