Actually, we will be staying in a sublet for the week in Brooklyn, the Ft Green Park area. I'll PM my contact number. And I'm certainly up for something non-touristy, to enhance the touristy stuff! Becky

Ft Green eh? That's RIGHT next to my neighborhood (Park Slope). Brooklyn is definitely the coolest part of NYC by the way...

Hah...I'm no amateur! I can drink a bottle of 101 & still have the wherewithal to head in the correct direction after being hit by a car.

I plan on having at least 4 bourbons during the College World Series game tonight. Maybe 6 if we win.

Becky,
You'll love Ottawa I've visited several times myself. I would suggest PMing Bill (that's also his screen name) for advice on where to go and what to see. Have fun.

Becky: I'm in Ottawa and It would be great to catch up while you're here. July 1st is canada Day so the whole place is a party/zoo. If you could catch it you'd enjoy it. On July 4th I imagine the US embassy has a party but I don't know who you'd have to know to get in.
Other than that Ottawa is a great walking, cycling, roller-blading kind of place with lots of good pubs and restaurants as well as museums etc.
When exactly are you coming and where are you staying (what part of town?). Maybe take this to PM.
