What kind of cuise do you guys recommend? I'm looking for something to keep my hand comfortable for a couple hours of straight riding. I'm looking at the kurykan throttle boss or a throttle lock, but I don't know what would be best? Thanks, Aaron

Kury boss is obviously the cheapest solution IF you already have/want the kury grips. I've got one and it makes long distance rides more comfortable. However you still can't remove your hand from the grip. A real cruise control's obviously the BEST solution, but it's expensive and can be a pain to fit. Throttle locks are a happy medium. The Vista Cruise is probably the best bang for buck, but if you can afford it the Brakeaway is a superior product with better features. Of course there's a lot of members here who just use a rubber band jammed between the grip & switch box.

My $9.95 Throttle Rocker works great. I can relax my hand grip using my palm to hold pressure on the throttle. You can take it on or off in an instant. I would think that would be the cheapest solution.

The Kury grips and boss work very nice. If I get out on a long trip, my .90 cent o-ring still does a great holding the throttle in position but easy to defeat.

If you don't have Kurry grips, the O ring is probly best, but I've never tried it. Only thing is you have to PUSH the throttle off to get it to close, whereas with the rocker (which I have), lets you release the throttle if you want. Just my 2C. I kinda want to try the O ring, not sure if it'll work with my grips. We'll see.

I agree with the boss. We got 1 for Wendys bike for $7 and it goes on with velcro. I love it she is still deciding. It's nice and wide too not narrow like so many I have seen. I just rest my hand on it and relax but in an emergency nothing is locked. Best part is this boss will go on any grip at all and doesn't budge once on but is easily removed with no marks left behind. If I remember I'll look at the manufacturer and post that too.
Edit: By velcro I mean a strap goes from the boss around the grip through a loop on the boss on the opposit side then velcros to itself.

I have the Vista Cruise (throttle lock) and a Throttle Rocker. Love them both. Have done a few 700+ mile days and both of those really made the ride better. When I add a Tiger to the garage I'll definitely put both of those on it also. WELL worth the few bucks for the amount of comfort and relaxation gained.

You know, the o-ring might not work with the Kuryakyn grips. The throttle sleeve has a little slop and moves back and forth about 1/8". Probably enough to not let the o-ring make contact snugly against the switch housing. Realized last night, since adding the throttle boss, I've never felt compelled to use the o-ring. I'll give it a try this evening, keep several in my sissy-bar bag.

That BrakeAway system looks to be the best of everything. Its just like a car's cruise where you can turn it off with the brake. Its just money, and if you are going to spend it you should get something worth having. Right?
Thanks for the input guys.

The throttle boss I put on Wendys is a Throttle Rocker. I couldn't find any other manufacturers names on it. I found a link to it right here. http://www.throttlerocker.com/I paid $7 for mine from a friend who is a dealer,I see on thier web site they want $11 plus $1 to ship.

My Throttle Rocker has never been off the bike since I put it on. I've gotten quite used to being able to relax my right hand while riding.

I like the Vista Cruiser Universal along with a throttle rocker, the kind with no velcro. In traffic, I can roll the rocker out of the way. The rocker is handy if you like to ride with two fingers on the brake, which can be good in Bambi Land. (Missed one by 30' last night) The lever helps take the twist effort off the ring & pinky fingers. The Vista Cruiser is nice if you need to free up your right hand for a helmet adjustment, etc.
