I work with fuel injection everyday and you would be surprised how different companys out source their parts.Bosch for instanced has at least 90% of the parts made in several different countries Brazil,Canada,Italy and a few others, every part has a manufacturers code of where it is produced ,so anytime their is a warranty issue they can go back to that manufacturer. So about the only thing German is the name.
Bosch also owns Zexel and Nippondenso (Denso) which they make pumps as well as alterantors and starters and the Denso parts are so much cheaper even being owned by Bosch and made in the same place.
And dont forget the little parts boxes that say made in Mexico or assembled in Mexico.
And Lucas (CAV)was bought out a few years ago by Delphi ,so it just gos to show you cant buy much of anything made in one place anymore..
