I guess it's just a matter of opinion and not really woth arguing. I personally think that Porsche should be given the credit for the engine but you're right, business practices today make something like this much more common place.
The name Ford was vastly unimportant in my point though, it would have been the same as if I said Chevy or if I said when you buy crest toothpaste it's your toothpaste but it's still crest. Ford just happened to be the second (triumph being the first) name that popped into my head when I was writing.
Let my dying thought be that every mile was fun and let my tombstone read,"They never made one fast enough for me."

The rake on the StreetRod may be better for handling, but it looks funny to me compared to the rake on the regular V-Rod.

Just because they paid a German engineering team instead of thier in house ones, doesn't mean they shouldn't get credit for it.
I put HD injuneers with OCC and Paul senior. I wouldn't let those ham fisted knuckleheads touch my lawnmower. OK, enough said. Even the best HD has to offer is sub par. I have asked several dealers out of curiosity how well the VRod engine is holding up. I have yet to find a dealer admitting that a VRod has been opened up. Must be a good motor. Like the internet, they couldn't say it if it wasn't true.

You sir are correct! It would be very embarassing to ask Honda about water cooling or anything else for that matter, what with the famous 1983 tariff act they got passed against the Japanese. They would be dead and buried if that hadn't passed, or like Indian or Excelsior making those comebacks.

I work with fuel injection everyday and you would be surprised how different companys out source their parts.Bosch for instanced has at least 90% of the parts made in several different countries Brazil,Canada,Italy and a few others, every part has a manufacturers code of where it is produced ,so anytime their is a warranty issue they can go back to that manufacturer. So about the only thing German is the name. Bosch also owns Zexel and Nippondenso (Denso) which they make pumps as well as alterantors and starters and the Denso parts are so much cheaper even being owned by Bosch and made in the same place. And dont forget the little parts boxes that say made in Mexico or assembled in Mexico. And Lucas (CAV)was bought out a few years ago by Delphi ,so it just gos to show you cant buy much of anything made in one place anymore..
