Well, i'm not real worried. Just that it would be a royal pain . they shipped them yesterday so i should know by next weekend. I also have progressive springs and a bunch of other goodies on the way, plus i think i'll be ordering Ikons for the rear soon. And to think when i bought this bike i was actually so nieve i thought it was costing me $8600 ! But i absolutly cannot wait to see what it's like with the pipes plus good front and back suspension. From all i've heard so far i should be in heaven. It's already my fav bike ever !

Hi Grip, Where in W.Lothian are you from? I used to come down and race at East Fortune. I`m actually from the Angus area. If you send an email to me at servwriter@Thunderbike.co.nz I`ll send you a couple of pics of out cast aluminium badges we fit. Cheers Graeme www.Thunderbike.co.nz

Arrrrrg !!!! You mean to tell me YOU fit them at TB? I sent you guys an email asking about getting a set w/o badges and whether i'd have to wait for another order from the manufacturer. Now i find YOPU add the badges which means i could have gotten a set like that. But you never answered my and sent the pipes after the backorder arrived. Granted it wasn't sent long before they arrived, but man you guys have got to check your email more !! I realize it may be hard to check email regularly, but then the $700 i paid was very hard to earn !!! I would have really loved to NOT have those badges.

Hi Johnny, Your pipes are probably about to arrive very shortly. 1. We do NOT fit the badges here in the shop. 2. Yours will NOT have any badges when they arrive. We deal on average with OVER 300, yes thats correct, over 300 emails per day here so please cut us a a bit of slack for not having found the time to have mentioned that the badges had in fact been (very carefully) removed by me from your new pipes before they were dispatched. We have also been down a couple of staff members recently which has made things a little "busy" to say the least. Customer service is very important to us here and we try to do the right thing where and when we can, it seems like we`ve just missed out that last part of the detail for you in this case, I hope it hasn`t cause you any undue stress. Now how about you get those pipes on and go have some fun! Cheers Graeme www.Thunderbike.co.nz

Hi, Yes that`s my friend Gary, he was over here last year, good guy and I`ll enjoy telling him about you lol! I should`ve been more specific it seems and mentioned I had some badges I`d removed from some pipes to send you, so they will be with shortly. I will send pics of the badges and pics of the pipes with them attached. Are there many Speedmasters and Americas around your way?, I`m just wondering how they are received in a mainly Sportsbike and UJM part of the world. Obviously the Harley owners will have an opinion as well around there, how do they react to your bike? Cheers Graeme www.Thunderbike.co.nz

Excellent. Thanks Graeme. i had no way of knowing that because i never got an answer, but apparently you saw it. I am now quite the happy lad. They should probably arrive by tomorrow or wednesday U.S. time, and i can't wait. just hope it'll give me another 12-15% increase in performance. Sound alone wasn't enough for me to part with the cash, so i'm banking on the extra grunt being up to expectations. Again, thanks.

It certainly does seem that you never received any reply to let you know they had been despatched. You should have one now with a tracking number attached. Cheers Graeme www.Thunderbike.co.nz

Actually i DID. I just got one a few minutes ago, but i got an email a few days ago with the tracing #. It was a reply to the question regarding a set w/o badges that i never got, which is of course no problem now. I'm wondering if you may have me mixed up with another order, but in any case all is good...

The dealer (two wheels in Edinburgh) tell's me he's selling loads, though I have yet to see one on the road....Everytime I'm in the shop they have different ones so I guess they are going out the door right enough.
I've got a sprint RS as well and ride with a couple of different sets of guys.....The main couple of guys i go out with are on Bandit 12's and cb1300's now so the speedmaster can just about keep up with them in all but the tightest B roads. I'm hoping the bit extra from the tbike pipes will give me that extra to overtake with and keep them in sight!
The sportsbike guys tend to come over for a chat because its a bike thats unusual over here and they want to know what it is etc.
I can see more guys switching to cruisers/roadsters just to keep their driving license's they way the police are cracking down at the moment....its hard to keep to game over speeds on the speedmaster!

I asked this a few pages ago but never got an answer, so here it is again....
"If the cam really is the bottlneck in this engine (05' speedy) would a cam with NO bore kit make it possible to get the same percentage of performance boost out of the 865 as the 790 gets?"
I was in perticular wondering if the 790 engine's camwould work in the 865 and if i ten would find the 865 getting the same percentage of performance boost from the pipes?

Hi Johnny, I would like to hear your impressions on the performance when you install the new pipes, as I have the 865 SM as well.

Curly,
I installed them last nite but wanted to ride it to and from work today before i commented on them fully. I will be taking the loooooong way home from work in about and hour and will post my impressions over at the twin forum at RAT tonite. Look for it with the username dazco, or maybe i'll just copy and paste it here too. So far i can say i'm w/o question happy i bought them. But tonite i'll do a full review.

Good write up on rat.net
I just ordered mine last night so will have them in a week or two, enough time to play with before the ice and snow come back.
