After lining the way I wanted them, using existing hangers I modified them with an insert that is similar to a rivet except that you can thread in a bolt. Those came loose on me perhaps due to the thin muffler wall or insert design. I saw this when I tore into the bike for BB kit. I had them welded by a local muffler shop to the bracket in a way that was hidden. Dabbed some rust stop on them and I'm done. An easy way would be to use self tapping screws after you line them up and mark them the way you want then have a shop just weld a bead on the bottom. Crude as it may be they are solid and it is hidden. Rust Stop will prevent rusting through. When and if mine go I'll replace them with another pair. I got got in wet weather last year and noticed rusting. After using 000 steel wool and plenty of chrome polish the came out looking new, so I keep them polished.
