Ok I have a 2002 Bonneville America I am most certainly interested in adding a sweet exhaust system on. I have researched some options such as the many Exhaust Models made by Specialty Spares there are Slash Cut cannons short cannons among others and the one and only Sceptre those seem to always catch my eyes and ears . If anyone else is running pipes other than these and are absolutely in love with them let me know Id appreciate it.

Oh oh, big can-o-worms opened again.

THE best pipes are the ones on YOUR bike.

Everyone loves theirs, many great pipes out there now. You should have seen the choices 3 years ago, TOR and Sceptre was about it.

Of course my opinion says the Thunderbike Pipes are best.
YMMV.

I drilled out my stock ba pipes. removed two baffels and jumped to a 130 main jet with two shims. not to loud and the bike seems to run better I also removed the snokle and went 2 1/2 turns on the air screw. that is the cheap way and I like the look of my stok pipes.

Yeah it's fast. It's blue and it has flames.

I like my Epco pipes. They sound good, add a lot of power and, being stainless steel, they don't rust or peel.

I think Bub slash cuts are the best pipes for the BA. They were created especially for our bikes, and tuned to give the max in performance. And they sound awesome!

After lining the way I wanted them, using existing hangers I modified them with an insert that is similar to a rivet except that you can thread in a bolt. Those came loose on me perhaps due to the thin muffler wall or insert design. I saw this when I tore into the bike for BB kit. I had them welded by a local muffler shop to the bracket in a way that was hidden. Dabbed some rust stop on them and I'm done. An easy way would be to use self tapping screws after you line them up and mark them the way you want then have a shop just weld a bead on the bottom. Crude as it may be they are solid and it is hidden. Rust Stop will prevent rusting through. When and if mine go I'll replace them with another pair. I got got in wet weather last year and noticed rusting. After using 000 steel wool and plenty of chrome polish the came out looking new, so I keep them polished.

I fell in love with the Specialty Spare sound (Long Cannons) while riding behind Get2Bill for an hour or so last year. Bought a set myself and love them - the sound and the chrome finish. No regrets only smiles on this end and they are priced reasonable compared to the other options. I had Long Off-roads on my bike and found them too quiet.

Well buying new pipes would most certainly add to my performance but being low on money as usual it sounds like doing some serious modifications to my pipes and Uni-Filter would be the best way to go for now but I will definately consider the many other options thta you guys have provided me with thanks for the feedback guys appreciate it a bunch.

Gmax, I found the TOR long/loud pipes to be great. There is a seperate part number for the loud version. If I remember it ends in 26. Great Bay Triumph sells em. They are the very last item on the last page of their online accessory catalog.I also got two sets of jets and a different pilot jet. I went with 122.5 jets to start and changed the pilots from 42's to 44's. When I first started up the bike with the new pipes I was not a happy camper. They had a real hollow sound and were not very loud.So I went out and started doing some riding.Air mixture screws were set at 2.5 to start. The first few miles the pipes smelled like paper was burning and I really did not care for the sound. But each time I went out the sound would change a little, getting deeper/louder.After putting about fifty miles on em, they were starting to soung pretty good.Still a little hollow when you first start out, but really nice on the highway.Last night I changed the air mixture screws to three turns, and pretty much decieded to come up one step on the main jets to 125. This morning I had to make a run before the jet change and the pipes are really starting to sound good now, even the start off.So anyway, I let it cool down and this afternoon I rejetted and turned the air mixture screws to 3.5.After the jet change I did the twenty mile shakedown run.The pipes are now sounding great, almost all of the hollow sound is gone and these pipes make a beautiful song going up through the gears. Now they are pretty darn loud, and they need some breakin time, but these maybe what you are looking for.I think I am going to be with these pipes for a long time. My .02-for my bobber project we used the stock head pipes and installed thunderboltz-check out www.bigcitythunder.com -incredible sound! similar to an old midget race car with an offy-as for power, the combo of the bella corsa crIIs and the pipes gives very crisp response and my butt dyno tells me improved torque and hp-if you like the drag pipe look this is a very eco way to go-Later!

I've never heard anything but my Specialty Spares but I love the sound, fit and finish of the pipes. They're also more reasonably priced than others.

Gotta sing the praises of the Thunderbike pipes, seamless installation, fit and performance. Sound great, improved revs, look good, can remove the heat sheilds if ya want.

I do believe i've settled on the Tbikes too. The sound from the vid file is as nice as any from what i can tell, and the no jetting feature is a HUGE bonus. Only thing stopping me is the fear that i'll buy them for my 05 speedy only to see them release a new version shortly after made especially for the 865 engine. I know some of you say they're BS'ing when they said they have one in the works. But i gotta think it makes sense that they would since it probably wouldn't take a lot of R&D to figure out how to change the baffling to optimize it for that engine. And i'm sure they know it would entice some buyers like myself who might go elsewhere due to the fact the current pipes are optimized for the 790.

And while on the subject, has anyone tried the Tbikes on a 05 speedy, and if so how did they fare as far as performance increase?

Jetting the bike is much easier than you think,it only requires a few basis tools, studying what you do the first time, and after the first time you will be a wondering what you were so apprehensive about.I would not make half of my desision to buy or not to buy a certain pipe, based on wether you need to rejet or not.Sooner or later you are probably going to make some type of mod that will require a jetting change.Might as well get this jetting part of the bike behind you, cause next up for us folks that have never done it is valve shimming. Got em on my '05 SM and they do seem to have added something material to the riding experience. Hard to be objective though cause the baffle design has resulted in such a pleasant range of sound from a steady rumble to a rolled-on bark. Makes you think the power delivery has improved as TB's dyno says. IMHO, if you are heavy into power/torque improvements, you'd likely be better off with alternatives that require modded intake & fuel delivery tunes. I'm completely satisfied with the combination of TB's and the stock 16-tooth sprocket.
