Been there and not from sitting on the bike but that's a whole 'nother story...!!

I do NOT sit on the bike while fueling, can't really come up with any good reasons, just never have.
I figure it's full when the gas is near the top, not at the top, near. There's plenty of gas stations (friggin things seem to be everywhere) that I don't have to get every ounce in the tank. After hard riding, I stop at 100 miles. After easy cruising, I stop at 130. Simple.
