The 3 sets I've tampered with all had 4 baffles and a reducer at the header end. For the end one, wiggle the tube around and after a couple of minutes the welds will break. Then get a hole saw and cut out the plate, taking care not to tear up perforated lining, aout 1/8" thick against the chrome pipe. the next 2 baffles are tack welded to the perforated lining and will knock out pretty easily. The biggest performance gain for me was after 3rd baffle came out.
